Finding your voice
Lately, I've been reading tons of blogs, scouring newspapers and navigating online websites to find inspiration. For what, you may ask? Well, I'm trying to find my voice as a writer. And I feel in order to do so successfully, I need to see how other people are portraying themselves online. We all have a different personality. Some writers love sharing about really intimate things in their lives. Others love writing about nonsensical, ordinary things without much emotion. I think that I am a very private person who is not so fond of sharing highly-personal details. I might even delete this post.

Winter wonderland, not!
Albert Camus once famously said, "In the depths of winter I finally learned there was in me an invincible summer". It is the end of winter in Hamburg. The roads are covered in snow sludge except where car tyres have formed black lines. I wish that Albert Camus' words would resonate within me. But as my boss has so correctly pointed out, "You've got winter on your brain!".

Yeah, yeah, Casper again...
I know I've blogged about Casper again. But his version of Coming Home is just so infectious that I am serving it to you like a freshly baked slice of bread with melted butter. Wet your appetite? Check out this odd-looking but sweet-sounding bloke.

Winter in Hamburg
Only in Hamburg do you get:
snow, sun and seagulls. What a bizarre time of year it is – when the world
sinks into a grey, inky, darkness. I come from Cape Town
and I must say, the weather in Hamburg
is something you have to get used to. Slowly. Very slowly. But you do.
And
then, the extreme cold is like the extreme heat of a summer’s day. But what’s
really hard: the sky that is eternally tinged in a grey, milky
mess. And so, I treasure every winter’s day when the sky is blue – the
seagulls are dancing in the air – screeching and enjoying the sun’s warmth.

British rap
Sometimes rappers just come across as being hilarious.
There’s something about their poser gangster attitude that makes me smile. But hiding
behind Professor Green’s potty mouth is a lad with a brain. The rapper recently toured with Lily Allen and clearly has, not only a big tatoo, but talent.
